Peter Holmberg is set to race in the 2007 Nanny Cay Nations Cup.

It has now been confirmed.

Peter Holmberg will be racing with brother John's USA BEYC team at the 2007 NCNC.

I met John in K.Mart, St. Thomas yesterday afternoon. He had a nice selection of mushroom anchors ready for mark laying at the 2007 'Pro Am' coming up next week at the BEYC where he works as Watersports Director.

We talked about his mushrooms and the logistics of getting 11 IC24's up to the BEYC this Thursday.

'Come on John' I said, 'will Peter be racing with you at the NCNC?'

'Too right' he replied, 'you said we needed to sort those Hirst Boys out, didn't you?'

There you have it, you heard it here first...Peter Holmberg will be racing at the 2007 NCNC.

This is great news for all concerned. There is a rich history (and a keen rivalry) between the BVI and the USVI. The Hirst brothers and Chris Haycraft grew up racing against the likes of the Holmbergs, Morgan Avery and Chris Rosenberg. Sunfish, Lasers, J24's...there are some great stories to be heard and you can bet that they will be getting an airing between the races under the tents this year.

Peter's rise to sailing stardom led him away from any kind of regular racing in the Virgin Islands but now he is free from is America's Cup commitments he has the time to relax here and enjoy the scenery. What better way could there be to do this than to re-ignite a few old battles on the water! Bring it on John and Peter, let's see what you are made of!
