    The Pro-Am took on a different format this year. The Am's asked for more fleet racing in the IC24s instead of match racing and team racing...they got it...16 races in all with no discards. In the final analysis Ken Read did enough to hold off Team Homberg and Team Baird.

RBVIYC kids 2nd, Musto wins...Scuttlebutt Offshore

The 2007 BEYC 'Drakes Challenge' report...

Peter Holmberg is set to race in the 2007 Nanny Cay Nations Cup.

Peter_holmberg_alinghi It has now been confirmed.

Peter Holmberg will be racing with brother John's USA BEYC team at the 2007 NCNC.

I met John in K.Mart, St. Thomas yesterday afternoon. He had a nice selection of mushroom anchors ready for mark laying at the 2007 'Pro Am' coming up next week at the BEYC where he works as Watersports Director.

We talked about his mushrooms and the logistics of getting 11 IC24's up to the BEYC this Thursday.

The 2007 Nanny Cay Nations Cup...less than 4 weeks away!

Alisons_start_picNovember 17th will come sooner than you think.  We could be looking at 20 National teams battling it out in the Sir Francis Drake Channel off Nanny Cay making it the biggest NCNC yet!

Already confirmed with checks in the post are team ‘Crabtown sailors’ from Annapolis USA (Dotty Holoubek), team HIHO (Andy Morrell), team Canada (Mark Plaxton), team Holland (Frits Bus) and team St. Martin (Simon Manly).

'The Drake's Challenge' only 5 days away...

Beyc_drakes The IC24 racing season kicks off in earnest this weekend with the BEYC's 'Drake's Challenge'.

On Friday, 11 BVI based IC24s will be towed 20 miles East to North Sound, Virgin Gorda...one of the finest racing locations on the planet!

'The Black Pearl' is sold.

Dave_west Dave and his wife Kim are well known on the local racing scene.
(pictured here, Dave has the red lifejacket on and Kim is in the foreground)

They leapt to fame with their Farr 395 in 06 and more recently campaigned their Melges 32 in 07.  Hailing from Bayfield, Wisconsin they have now built a home on Tortola.
