This is the first time a BVI IC24 has come on the market.
Mike Masters, aka ‘Jack Sparrow’ is ready to move on and let the ‘Pearl’ go. Mike has been involved with the IC24 fleet for over 4 years and has enjoyed more than a few ‘golden moments’ racing his pride and joy.
Mike is not known as someone who does anything by halves, ‘Pearl’ is in the kind of condition that you would expect with a perfectionist owner who owns a machine shop! However for personal reasons Mike is now offering the ‘Pearl’ for sale.
I can clearly remember Mike coming into TYS yard and viewing hull #5 as a J24. The hull was painted white with a very poor quality paint…but a little scraping revealed the original black gel coat. He was sold, the deposit was paid and ‘The Pearl’ was only ever going to be painted one colour…jet black!
Since launching he has upgraded her over the years to become, arguably, the finest IC24 in the BVI . Never short of speed, always rigged with great sails and always competitive. Mike, you will be missed, I’m sure I speak for everyone. ‘The Pearl’ comes with recent race sails and a second, still very serviceable suit for club racing. She has a trailer, a boarding ladder and custom alloy life jacket racks!
The bottom has been meticulously prepared and barrier-coated. The asking price is $26,000 firm. As with all BVI IC24’s she should not leave these shores and will still be part of the RIP program by agreement with the new owner.
